    Personal Goal

    Interesting and rewarding work, that deals with complex IT systems, especially real-time systems and/or automated systems. I'm interested mostly in software algorithms and software automation of usually manual tasks.

    Education

    1999 - 2004Control Engineering and Computers at Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti, Romania (5 years full time).
    My University Degree Paper deals with Automated Control of Network Traffic, im-plemented using GNU/Linux OS and Perl programming language.

    The software is written using Object Oriented Techniques, aided by UML design and sits on top of the networking abilities of the OS.
    1995 - 1999 Informatics at Constantin Brancoveanu Military Highschool, Ploiesti, Romania (4 years full time)
    The final attestation deals with Equation Systems, using Gauss and Newton algorithms.

    Work experience

    2002 - 2004Information Technology and Communications Department of Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti, Romania
    Concurrent with studies at the University and after I graduated. Involved in the University's network design, development and maintainance. Installing and maintaining network servers such as DNS, WWW, mail firewall, designing DMZ and different security models for the network and individual Linux hosts.
    Writting perl and bash scripts for automating different jobs on servers or to collect and centralize data for review by me or other System Administrators.
    2004 - August 2005Beta Testing/Technical Support Division of AVIRA Soft GmbH
    Beta - Tester / Support Engineer at AVIRA Soft GmbH, an emerging AntiVirus Company.
    My duties are to plan and run manual and automated tests for Unix products along with providing support for the customers and AVIRA's employees.
    September 2005 - PresentQuality Assurance Division of AVIRA Soft GmbH
    Quality Assurance Engineer and Coordinator for AVIRA Soft GmbH.
    Lead a team of seven QA people, planning and supervising the Quality Assurance Process for the AVIRA's secuirty products, both on Microsoft Windows platforms and on Unices (GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD).
    April 2006 - PresentQuality Assurance Division of Avira Soft SRL
    Manager of the QA Department.
    Lead a team of seven QA people, planning and supervising the Quality Assurance Process for the Avira's security products, both on Microsoft Windows platforms and on Unices (GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Solaris).

    September 2005 Release and maintain an SMTP library for POE, a multitasking framework for Perl (simulating Finite state machines).

    Telex SoftwareWrote a project handling user messages and sending them over telex wires, using Perl and running on embedded GNU/Linux.
    Test automation of proprietary softwareDesigned and wrote a test infrastructure for automatically fetching software builds, smoke test them and send reports of the test process, similar to the way CPAN Perl modules are automatically tested.
    Performance testingReporting and comparison between different versions of proprietary software running on GNU/Linux.
    Webmin module Designed and wrote an Webmin module to provide a simple and intuitive GUI for some proprietary software.
    System interfacesWrote several Perl curses scripts acting as graphical user interfaces for GNU/Linux traffic control tools like iptables, tc, racoon. For both configuring and real-time reporting of the status for the above mentioned tools.

    Miscellaneous

    2000 Moderator on the Romanian Linux Forum at Linux RO
    2004Organized and gave six hours a week seminar on the use of Linux OS and GNU/C programming at the Computers Faculty of the Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti.

    Computer skills

    OSExpert user and skilled administrator of different flavors of GNU/Linux (glibc2.2 and glibc2.0) including Enterprise servers like RHEL or (Open/Novell) SuSE, BrainBench Certifed with a score of 3.46;
    moderate skilled user of OpenBSD and FreeBSD;
